Official releases and upgrades may be downloaded from Compuserve at the Graphics Support Forum (GO GRAPHSUPPORT), library 3, the Macintosh RoundTable on GEnie, or from America Online in the Direct Connect folder of the Macintosh Graphics and CAD forum (keyword: mgr). GIFConverter updates are also available through some user groups, disk services, and Internet FTP sites.

  38. Distribution

GIFConverter is a ╥shareware╙ program. Shareware offers the opportunity to try out a fully-functional copy of a program before purchase. Although GIFConverter is freely available, it is a copyrighted program, and use or distribution in violation of the License Agreement and Distribution guidelines is against the law.

You may give copies of GIFConverter to your friends for evaluation. GIFConverter may be placed on BBSes and online service providers (such as Compuserve, GEnie and America Online) provided that the GIFConverter package is downloadable without charge beyond normal connect charges. GIFConverter may be placed onto diskettes distributed by user groups at nominal fee.

  44. When distributing GIFConverter, please give the complete contents of the disk, or the two stuffed files (GIFConverter 2.2.10.SIT and GIFConverter 2.2.10 Doc.SIT), making sure that all note files are transferred as well.

  53. o The documentation has been edited, and should be more readable and easier to understand.

  55. o Minor typographical and stylistic changes to conform to the new documentation.

  57. o GIFConverter no longer inverts AppleScan TIFF files when it reads them.

  59. o The Set Resolution... dialog box now supports 360 dpi for the StyleWriter.

  61. o GIFConverter can read many corrupt GIF files. It may not read the whole file, and may stop in the middle of an image.

  63. o When scaling or setting resolution, GIFConverter now preserves the relative position of the images.

  65. o Some crashes have been fixed, especially when switching applications under Multifinder.

  67. o GIFConverter removes the Temporary Items folder when quitting if it's empty.

  69. o GIFConverter should be handling PICT files with more than 256 colors better now. The colors you see should be closer to the colors in the file.
